Popular and successful neighborhood restaurant is looking for an experienced, hospitality-driven Assistant General Manager to join the team! This family-friendly dining destination is known for their relaxed, ingredient-driven cuisine, strong beverage program, and an elevated, approachable vibe that is quintessentially West Los Angeles. The team is looking for a warm, floor-focused leader to helm day-to-day operations, oversee service, and lead the team by example both on the floor and behind the scenes. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in upscale, relatively high-volume dining establishments, in addition to an impeccable floor presence, strong attention to detail, and an all-hands-on-deck mentality. While this person will have added support from a GM and ownership as needed, this role will be the primary FOH manager in the restaurant day-today. Assistant General Manager Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the restaurant, including but not limited to, staffing, inventory management, bar ordering, and quality control
  • Ensure the team is knowledgeable on the menu items
  • Assist with hiring, training, motivating and coaching team members
  • Perform all aspects of the job with a high level of professionalism and integrity
  • Establish and uphold positive work culture
  • Provide support for the team in positive, collaborative manner
  • Take initiative to help continue building business and get to know repeat customers
  • Uphold high standards of guest service and satisfaction, proactively addressing any issues or concerns to ensure a positive dining experience for every guest
  • Maintain positive and cooperative relationships with all vendors, business partners, and staff
  • Encourage opportunities for the team to learn and grow
  • Continually strive to educate and develop of staff as it relates to food, beverage, and service
  • Ensure stellar guest experience in all areas
  • Solve any guest issues in a timely and appropriate manner
  • Ensure quality and consistency of all products served
  • Ensure all equipment is kept clean and in excellent working condition
  • Hold team accountable to high standards while remaining hands on and leading by example
  • Maintain a strong presence in the restaurant on a regular basis, especially on the floor during service
  • Be knowledgeable of restaurant policies regarding personnel and deliver prompt, fair and consistent corrective action for any and all violations of company policies, rules and procedures
  • Fully understand and comply with all federal, state, county and municipal regulations that pertain to health, safety and labor requirements

Assistant General Manager Qualifications:

  • 2-3+ years’ experience as Restaurant Assistant General Manager (AGM) or Senior Restaurant Manager OR 4+ years as a Restaurant Manager, Food & Beverage Manager, Dining Room Manager, FOH Manager, Service Manager, Hospitality Manager, or comparable title in a full service, upscale dining establishment
  • High volume service/restaurant experience is preferred
  • Passion for food, beverage, and high-end guest service
  • Working wine and beverage/craft cocktail knowledge is a plus
  • Proven knowledge of personalized service standards
  • Strong leader and motivator to the staff and management
  • A lead by example and team player approach
  • Impeccable attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively
  • Strong sense of integrity and initiative
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills

  • Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and on holidays as needed
  • Food safety certification

Compensation Package Includes:
