Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and Certified Surgical Technologist for a 13-week contract assignment in Saranac Lake, New York. The Surgical Technologist will be an integral member of the Operating Room team, assisting surgeons and nursing staff throughout surgical procedures while ensuring a safe and efficient surgical environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures by ensuring all instruments, supplies, and equipment are available and sterile.
• Scrub and assist during a variety of surgical procedures.
• Anticipate the needs of surgeons during procedures and provide appropriate instruments and supplies.
• Maintain sterile technique and comply with infection control standards.
• Handle, count, and organize surgical instruments and supplies before, during, and after procedures.
• Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, anesthesia providers, and other healthcare professionals.
• Assist with patient positioning and preparation for surgery.
• Participate in emergency and urgent surgical procedures as needed.
• Ensure proper specimen handling and labeling.
• Complete documentation and support quality patient care initiatives.
• Participate in on-call rotation as required for urgent and emergent surgical cases.

Requirements

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) required.
• Minimum 1 year of recent Operating Room Surgical Technologist experience.
• Strong Orthopedic surgery experience required.
• Vascular surgery experience strongly preferred.
• Experience scrubbing a variety of surgical specialties.
• Current BLS Certification preferred.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Assignment Details

• Location: Saranac Lake, NY
• Duration: 13 Weeks
• Shift: Variable 10-Hour Day Shifts (Monday–Friday)
• Guaranteed Hours: 40 Hours per Week
• Local and Travel Candidates Accepted
• Local Rate Applies for Candidates Within 75 Miles
• Overtime Available
• Daily OT after 24 hours
• Weekly OT after 40 hours
