Location: Tucson, Arizona. Department: Operating Room at Banner University Medical Center South. Shift: Evening (06:45-17:45 or 08:45‑19:15). Full‑time, 40 hours per week.
$10,000 sign‑on bonus for experienced OR RNs.
Shift Details
- Schedule: 06:45‑17:45 or 08:45‑19:15.
- On‑call: Weekend and holiday rotations may be required.
- Compensation: Flat rate $5/hr for call, $3/hr weekend shift differential and an 18% night shift differential when applicable.

Core Functions
- Assesses patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural, and discharge‑planning needs; reviews history, diagnostics, and laboratory data; and ensures timely completion of assessments.
- Formulates and revises a comprehensive plan of care, including discharge planning, based on assessment data and multidisciplinary input.
- Implements the plan of care through direct patient care, coordination, delegation, and supervision of the healthcare team; promotes continuity of care by communicating status updates to other caregivers.
- Evaluates patient and family response to care and teaching; revises the plan as needed to achieve goals.
- Documents assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in the patient record, ensuring legibility and timeliness.
- Provides evidence‑based care and may participate in research activities; engages in unit shared leadership, education, orientation, and mentoring of personnel.
- Contributes to societal improvements through participation in national nursing quality initiatives and professional organization activities.
- May supervise staff and workflow within the department.
- Interacts with all hospital staff levels, patients, families, and external contacts to coordinate care and provide spiritual support when appropriate.
Minimum Qualifications
- Current, valid RN license in state of practice (or temporary/interim RN license, or compact RN licensure).
- BLS certification required.
- Experience in the clinical area for which the RN is applying is desired.
- Maintenance of clinical performance competencies and annual validation.
- For acute‑care hospital positions, minimum one year of experience in an acute‑care setting within the past 12 months.
- For home‑health positions, possession of a valid driver’s license and active auto insurance coverage.
- Behavioral health positions require an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card or, where applicable, a Colorado Fingerprint Clearance Card, and submission of an Arizona Criminal History Affidavit on hire.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Professional certification preferred.
- Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
