Position Title: High School English Teacher (Grades 9–12, Including AP)

Location: North Hollywood, CA

Employment Type: Full-Time

Salary Range: $65,000–$100,000 (commensurate with experience and qualifications)

Position Overview: We are seeking a passionate and skilled High School English Teacher to instruct students in grades 9–12, including Honors and Advanced Placement (AP) English courses. The ideal candidate is dedicated to fostering critical thinking, strong writing skills, and a deep appreciation for literature while maintaining high academic standards.

Our ideal candidate is someone who brings both academic rigor and genuine warmth into the classroom—someone who challenges students while building strong relationships and a love of learning.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach English Language courses for grades 9–12, including Honors and AP English (Language and/or Literature).
• Develop and deliver engaging, standards-aligned lesson plans that support diverse learners.
• Prepare students for AP exams through rigorous instruction and targeted skill development.
• Assess student progress through essays, projects, exams, and presentations; provide timely, constructive feedback.
• Create a positive, inclusive, and academically challenging classroom environment.
• Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development and instructional best practices.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and administrators regarding academic progress and expectations.
• Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events as required.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
• Experience teaching high school English; AP teaching experience strongly preferred.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Commitment to academic excellence and student growth.
