The Opportunity

We are seeking a forward-thinking and execution-oriented Director of Technology to lead the strategy, delivery, and evolution of technology solutions supporting Mattel’s Logistics and Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) Supply Chain. This leader will combine deep domain expertise with modern technology leadership to drive scalable, resilient, and innovative capabilities across distribution, fulfillment, and last-mile operations.

This role requires a strong blend of technology thought leadership, supply chain domain expertise, and organizational leadership, with the ability to partner closely with Distribution Center (DC) operations and business stakeholders to deliver measurable outcomes.

What Your Impact Will Be:

Technology Strategy & Leadership

  • Define and execute a multi-year technology roadmap for Logistics and DTC Supply Chain aligned to enterprise priorities and growth objectives
  • Serve as a thought leader in modern supply chain technologies, driving innovation across warehouse management, transportation, and fulfillment systems
  • Lead adoption of cloud-native architectures, data platforms, and integration strategies to enable scalability, resilience, and real-time visibility

Domain Partnership & Execution

  • Partner closely with Distribution Center leaders, Logistics operations, and DTC business teams to understand operational challenges and translate them into technology solutions
  • Drive end-to-end delivery of technology initiatives supporting warehouse operations, order fulfillment, inventory management, and transportation
  • Ensure high availability, performance, and continuous improvement of mission-critical supply chain systems

People Leadership & Organizational Development

  • Build, lead, and mentor high-performing engineering and product teams
  • Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous learning
  • Develop leadership bench strength and position the organization for future growth and expanded scope

Architecture & Innovation

  • Champion modern engineering practices including cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), microservices, APIs, and event-driven architectures
  • Drive data-driven decision making through advanced analytics, visibility platforms, and operational insights
  • Evaluate and implement emerging technologies to improve efficiency, cost, and customer experience

Cross-Functional Influence

  • Collaborate with Product, Operations, Finance, and external partners/vendors to ensure alignment and successful execution
  • Influence enterprise architecture and technology standards in alignment with broader digital transformation initiatives
  • Manage vendor relationships and strategic partnerships within the logistics and supply chain ecosystem

What We’re Looking For

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in technology leadership, with a significant focus on supply chain, logistics, or DTC fulfillment
  • Proven experience leading Director-level or equivalent organizations, including people leadership and budget responsibility
  • Deep understanding of logistics and distribution center operations, including WMS, TMS, and order management systems
  • Strong expertise in cloud technologies and modern architecture patterns (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with operations leaders and business stakeholders
  • Track record of delivering complex, large-scale technology initiatives in fast-paced environments
  • Excellent communication, executive presence, and stakeholder management skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in retail, consumer products, or omnichannel commerce environments
  • Familiarity with leading supply chain platforms (e.g. Blue Yonder, Oracle, etc.)
  • Experience driving digital transformation initiatives across logistics and fulfillment domains
