VP, Compliance
Job Type: Full-time; Hybrid
Responsibilities
- License Qualifier for the company
- Monitor and provide consultation on international business compliance
- Provide international compliance training and education for employees
- Review and approve customers and vendors
- Communicate with U.S. Customs and ensure prompt responses to US Customs inquiries.
- Maintain FMC compliance as well as understand FMC regulations with the ability to re-file tariff schedules.
- Complete FMC re-filing and conduct related employee training
- Plan and conduct internal customs entry audits to ensure error‑free operations and regulatory compliance
- Minimize late ISF entries as well as ensure timely customs entries and duty payments.
- Acquire and maintain C-TPAT certification
- Provide continuous internal education and training to comply with law and regulation for international business compliance and prevent import and export regulation violations
- Evaluate, introduce, and utilize compliance tools for customs operations and customer inquiries
- Implement AI technology for commodity classification
- Supervise, maintain and update company policy documents and licenses
- Review and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and assist with implementation for the operations department
- Automate manual operational processes
- Develop and maintain the company’s compliance program (policies, procedures, manuals).
- Ensure compliance with U.S. federal and state laws, as well as applicable international regulations.
- Function as the liaison with the company to align compliance functions between the group and local practice standards.
Experience
- Holding a US Customs Broker License is required
- 10+ years of logistics or transportation experience is needed
- 10+ years in managing a team is needed
- Bachelor’s Degree is preferred
- Import customs operation and international forwarding experience preferred but not required
- Knowledge and work experience in legal affairs is preferred
- Ability to communicate professionally with U.S. Customs officers and internal senior leadership
- Strong leadership and staff development skills
- Knowledge of Logistics, Supply Chain, and International regulations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office platforms, particularly PowerPoint and Excel
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
