Essential Responsibilities
- Process customer orders, plan & optimize shipments into loads, tender freight to third-party carriers.
- Update current shipment information Transportation System.
- Provide detailed instruction to various customers & associates from other shifts by phone and e‑mail.
- Provide visibility to management and the customer by tracking, process oversight, auditing, researching and troubleshooting operational issues or functions.
- Complete daily logs and trackers.
- Identify cost savings opportunities during load planning.
- Coordinates with carriers to ensure on‑time delivery by tracking trucks for pick‑up, estimating times of arrival and delivery, and recovering loads when necessary.
- Provides load exception investigation and reporting.
Requirements
- Degree in Business or Supply Chain Management preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in Transportation/Supply Chain preferred.
- Relevant/Related Work Experience can be substituted for Degrees.
- Competent with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel (vlookups and pivot tables).
- Clear and concise communication skills.
- Coordinates with carriers to ensure on‑time delivery by tracking trucks for pick‑up, estimating times of arrival and delivery, and recovering loads when necessary.
- Authorized to work in the U.S.
- A good attitude and ability to work in a team setting.
- Able to sense urgency and know when to elevate for assistance.
- Can create and maintain professional relationships with customers and carriers.
