Base pay range

$121,600.00/yr – $150,000.00/yr

The Opportunity

Senior Analyst, International Tax will join a strong international tax group that is an integral part of the tax team at Mattel. The Senior Analyst will play a key role in helping the team with day-to-day international tax functions such as U.S. international income tax compliance, U.S. international tax provision support, international withholding tax consulting and compliance, and other projects to support business partners and department needs. This position will also interact with key finance, accounting, legal, and other business partners across Mattel.

What Your Impact Will Be

  • Assist with the preparation and review of the U.S. international income tax compliance
  • Assist with the preparation and review of relevant U.S. international tax reform calculations, including most significantly preparation and review of earnings and profits, subpart F, GILTI, FDII, BEAT, and foreign tax credit calculations
  • Assist with the preparation of quarterly U.S. international tax provision calculations and supporting workpapers
  • Assist with gathering required information necessary to prepare non-U.S. local country tax returns and perform initial review of returns prepared by local providers
  • Prepare and file U.S. federal international withholding tax compliance
  • Prepare FBAR filings
  • Prepare ad hoc tax filings, as needed (e.g., EIN requests, entity classification elections, etc.)
  • Monitor and keep abreast on changes in tax laws, rules and/or regulations and assist with determining tax impact based on Mattel’s profile
  • Conduct tax research, document tax technical issues, and support tax scenario modeling, as requested, in support of special projects and tax initiatives
  • Coordinate tax matters with external advisors
  • Assist with U.S. and international tax audits
  • Assist with tax technology initiatives

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration required; CPA or JD or MST/MBT preferred
  • 5+ years of experience (4+ with a Masters) in an accounting firm or multinational corporate tax department
  • Big 4 public accounting experience a STRONG plus
  • Experience with tax provisions and international tax compliance preferred
  • Basic knowledge of core international concepts including E&P, foreign tax credits, subpart F, GILTI, BEAT, FDII
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Proficient with technology and systems (e.g., MS Office applications, particularly MS Excel)
  • CorpTax, Oracle, HFM and HPT experience a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Willingness to roll up your sleeves and get into the details
  • Willingness to take on new challenges and roles which may be unfamiliar
  • Must have a demonstrated hands-on approach and success working in a team based environment
  • The pay range is indicative of projected hiring range, however base pay will be determined based on a candidate’s work location, skills and experience.
