Position Summary:
The Regional Director of Business Development is responsible for the implementation, support, analysis, execution, and training for sales and marketing for assigned regions. With the Regional Vice Presidents, Area Director of Operations, Program Directors, and marketing staff, the director implements core standardized marketing and training practices and procedures to achieve the hospital’s vision, mission and goals. Provides support to enable the programs to meet admissions and census goals. Provides marketing leadership and support to their assigned facilities to enable them to meet business objectives, increase market awareness, implement strategies, create sales and marketing plans, build, expand and achieve admissions and census goals. Supports Divisional Marketing strategies through active participation in the design, modification and implementation of marketing initiatives.
Minimum Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in related field required. Master’s Degree preferred.
Minimum Experience:
Minimum of five years’ experience in healthcare marketing and sales management functions for multiple hospital locations (5 or more). Preferred experience in managing the sales and marketing function for hospitals located in multiple states. Over five years of actual hands‑on sales experience. Direct responsibility for leading, training and managing sales teams. Experience in leading, training and driving the referral through admissions sales process. Experienced in leading the Region and hospital teams in the development of comprehensive strategic marketing plans.
Essential Functions:
- Provides training expertise and functions as a resource to hospital in developing marketing plans.
- Trains Clinical Liaison and other marketing professionals for effective Referral Development.
- In conjunction with the ADO, assesses performance of Clinical Liaisons and other marketing positions in implementing marketing plans and takes or recommends corrective actions as necessary.
- Assures hospital has processes in place as required by the corporate compliance agreement.
- Completes special project requests as directed by the Division President, Division Vice President.
- Performs marketplace and hospital assessments to identify potential opportunities and clear understanding of branding equity.
- Measures effectiveness of marketing and sales activities, including financial viability of contracts and goal projections.
- Assists, by providing technical expertise and leadership, in product and service differentiation.
