Opto-Mechanical Engineer at Sierra Lobo, Inc. Join our Pasadena team supporting JPL and commercial aerospace customers. We design, fabricate, and test spaceflight imaging instruments and advanced thermal management systems for DoD, NASA, and allies.

Qualifications:

• BS/MS Mechanical Engineering or related. 0–5 years industry experience.
• Experience using Siemens NX CAD.
• Proficiency in mechanical drawing generation with GD&T.
• Detailed structural analysis of components and assemblies, including hand calculations and FEM.
• Broad mechanical design principles and ability to take designs from requirement definition through fabrication and test.
• Opto-mechanical systems design knowledge, including mounting optical elements and instrument structural design.
• Familiarity with Zemax or FRED a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Customer-focused team environment.
• Spaceflight hardware integration and test experience a plus.

Location: Hawthorne, CA
Salary: $95,000 – $115,000 (example)
