VERSE is a refined, hospitality-driven dining destination centered on elevated Angeleno cuisine, an exceptional wine program, and an immersive acoustic environment. We operate at high volume while maintaining disciplined service standards rooted in intention, efficiency, consistency, and accountability.
As VERSE continues its growth, we are expanding our Front of House team.
We do not hire directly into Captain (Server) positions. All Front of House team members begin with foundational responsibilities and advance through clearly defined stages based on performance, mastery, and leadership readiness.
This is a competitive, performance-driven structure designed to develop serious hospitality professionals.
Position Overview
Front of House Team Members begin by mastering the operational foundation of our dining room. Initial responsibilities may include polishing, station setup precision, support roles, and food running.
Advancement into Captain responsibilities is performance-based and earned through consistency, accountability, and demonstrated leadership capacity and testing.
Highly skilled candidates with strong experience may progress quickly. Growth is determined by execution — not tenure.

Service & Floor Expectations
- Execute polishing and station setup with discipline and attention to detail
- Support Captains and leadership to maintain service flow
- Run food with accuracy, urgency, and awareness
- Communicate clearly with kitchen, bar, and management
- Maintain composure during peak service
- Protect the guest experience at every stage of interaction
Every position within the dining room contributes directly to revenue, service timing, and overall perception.
Professional Requirements
Required:
- Prior experience in an upscale or high-volume restaurant environment
- Strong foundational knowledge of food and beverage
- Active California Food Handler certification
- Active California RBS certification
- Completion of California Sexual Harassment Prevention Training
- Experience using Toast POS (crucial)
Preferred:
- Experience with 7shifts scheduling software
- Fine dining background
- Wine and/or spirits education or certifications
- Interest in ongoing hospitality development
