Director of Front Office – Luxe Boutique Hotel – Downtown LA
A prominent boutique hotel developer is seeking an experienced Director of Front Office for their Downtown LA asset who will be the primary architect of the guest journey. You will lead the heartbeat of the hotel, overseeing the Front Desk, Concierge, Bell Staff, Valet, and PBX to ensure a world-class arrival and departure experience. This is a high-visibility leadership role designed for a strategic operator who balances “white-glove” service excellence with sharp financial acumen and a passion for mentorship.
Key Responsibilities
- Elevated Guest Excellence: Set the gold standard for service from curb to room. You will champion guest satisfaction initiatives, resolve complex issues with grace, and consistently drive high social media and internal service scores.
- Operational & Safety Leadership: Direct daily operations with precision, ensuring all safety, security, and brand standards are strictly maintained. You are the final point of escalation for operational flow.
- Team Empowerment: Lead the charge in recruitment, onboarding, and continuous professional development. You will manage scheduling to meet demand while mentoring the next generation of hospitality leaders.
- Financial Stewardship: Take full ownership of the department budget, including payroll management and expense control. Work closely with Revenue Management to maximize room high-yield opportunities and upsell programs.
- Strategic Liaison: Act as the central nervous system of the hotel, coordinating seamlessly with Housekeeping, Engineering, and Sales to ensure room readiness and flawless execution of group arrivals.
Required Skills and Experience
- 4+ years in Guest Services or Front Office operations, with at least 2 years in a significant leadership/supervisory capacity.
- Degree in Hotel Management, Hospitality, or Business Administration preferred.
- Expert proficiency in Property Management Systems (PMS) such as Opera or OnQ.
- Proven ability to manage large, diverse teams and maintain high morale in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong competency in budget oversight, P&L analysis, and labor management.
Compensation: $125,000 – $135,000 plus bonus, 401k, plus bonus and comprehensive health benefits as well as other valuable perks.
