Serves as a personal contact for physicians, staff, and outside departments in order to address problems, issues or concerns that require attention. Assists in management of clinical unit operations. Reports to the Clinic Manager of the Department. This position supervises clinical staff, which may include Support Coordinators, Medical Assistants, and LVN’s.In collaboration with the Nurse Manager, the Clinic LVN Supervisor is responsible for the operational management and day to day general supervision of the Internal Medicine Clinic floor staff. The LVN supervisor will assume responsibility for ensuring and supporting the delivery of quality patient care to the satisfaction of patients, physicians and staff. Essential Duties:* Supervise and Coordinates personnel actions, including, but not limited to performance evaluations, time-off requests, staff disciplinary actions, hiring, and terminating staff.* Serves as a personal contact for physicians, staff, and outside departments in order to address problems, issues or concerns that require attention and real time resolution.* Generates Daily Room/Staff Assignments. Arranges for staff coverage as needed.* Plans and directs staff development training for all clinic staff to ensure compliance with hospital policies and clinical competencies.* Participates in Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement initiatives, including, but not limited to assisting in development of clinic procedures and protocols* Ensures that exam rooms and treatment areas are supplied and maintained adequately by support personnel.* Promotes security by alerting appropriate personnel for safety, fire and other unsafe situations. Reports any unusual occurrences to Clinical Manager. Responds to emergency situations using standard emergency protocols and procedures.* Participates in monitoring and evaluating the quality and appropriateness of patient care. Contributes objective data regarding performance of other clinical staff members, as requested.* Maintains a safe environment in accordance with standards, policies and safety regulations. Ensures compliance with infection control policies.* Coordinates staffing to ensure breaks and meal periods are covered. Provides coverage as needed.* Other administrative/analytical work as required.* Performs other duties as assignedRequired Qualifications:* Req High School or equivalent* Req Specialized/technical training Graduate of an accredited vocational nursing program* Req 3 years Experience as an LVN in a clinic setting.* Req Organization/time management skills.* Req Demonstrates ability to utilize effective, appropriate and diplomatic oral and written communication skills.* Req Must be comfortable with computers and medical terminology.* Req Must adopt Keck Service Credo and Known Service Standards and Values.* Pref Strong Clinic operations and knowledge of federal, state and local laws/regulationsPreferred Qualifications:* Pref 1 year Supervisory experience in a clinic setting.Required Licenses/Certifications:* Req Licensed Vocational Nurse – LVN (CA DCA) Active California Licensed Vocational Nursing License* Req Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider from American Heart Association* Req LVN – Intravenous Therapy Certification (CA DCA)* Req Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire and maintained by renewal before expiration date. (Required within LA City only).The annual base salary range for this position is $68,640.00 – $112,370.00.
