Position Overview

¡Salud! is seeking a Bar Manager to oversee bar operations, team leadership and overall performance of our cocktail program. This is a working management role: 4 days on the floor behind the bar and 1 dedicated administrative day focused on operations, planning and team development.

The Bar Manager is responsible for maintaining service standards, ensuring operational efficiency, managing inventory and cost controls and leading a cohesive, well-trained bar team.


Key Responsibilities

  • Work with Director of Finance to accurately manage all restaurant financials and maintain bar profitability targets, including implementing and enforcing property invoice and cash-handling procedures
  • Understanding of COGS, inventory management and vendor relationships
  • Oversee bar costs, inventory, invoice tracking and timely ordering.
  • Manage scheduling and labor management of front of house staff including café and bar personnel
  • Grow beverage program, including expanding vendor relationships and activations
  • Ensure execution of all service standards and provide real-time coaching and feedback on service excellence
  • Uphold a positive, inclusive and motivating bar culture

Compensation

  • 4 bartending shifts per week (participating in tip pool)
  • 1 dedicated administrative day per week (not in tip pool)
  • $65,000 – $71,000 per year (base salary)

Key Responsibilities

Service & Floor Leadership (4 Days/Week)

  • Lead bar service during high-volume shifts
  • Maintain consistency in cocktail execution, presentation and speed
  • Uphold hospitality standards and guest experience
  • Support and coach bartenders and barbacks in real time
  • Ensure bar cleanliness, compliance and readiness for each shift

 Bar Operations & Administration (1 Day/Week)

  • Oversee ordering, inventory and vendor relationships
  • Identify and coordinate vendor partnerships and special events that drive bar revenue and guest engagement
  • Manage bar cost controls, including liquor, beer, wine and non-alcoholic inventory
  • Monitor pour cost and support profitability goals
  • Maintain and update bar SOPs, prep systems and recipes
  • Develop and maintain prep pars and weekly prep lists
  • Support scheduling in partnership with ownership/leadership

 Team Development

  • Lead ongoing bar training and standards refreshers
  • Provide coaching, performance feedback and accountability
  • Assist in hiring recommendations and onboarding processes
  • Foster a professional, team-oriented work environment

 Qualifications

  • 3+ years of Bar Manager or Leadership experience in a full-service, high-volume restaurant.
  • Proven ability to lead teams in a high-volume, craft-forward environment.
  • Manager ServSafe certification a plus
  • ABC LEAD certification a plus.
  • Previous bar management or lead experience preferred
  • Strong cocktail knowledge and technical execution
  • Experience with ordering, inventory management and cost control
  • Ability to lead, train and hold a team accountable
  • Organized, proactive and solutions-oriented leadership
  • Full-time availability, including nights, weekends and holidays
