RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Bereavement Assistant works closely with and is directly supervised by the Director of Social Services and the Bereavement Supervisor. This ensures that the assistant's work aligns with the department's needs and goals.
Bereavement Department
· Maintain and update bereavement tracking
· Maintain and update bereavement mailing list
· Maintain and update Social Worker tracking list
· Assemble and send out all bereavement mailing (bereavement packets, Condolence cards, seminar invitations and letters)
· Maintain and update all bereavement files for Medicare and Agency compliance
· Pull bereavement files for follow up phone calls for Bereavement Staff to make calls
· Make grief support phone calls to Bereaved Clients
· Assist the Director of Social Services and Bereavement Supervisor in other tasks or projects as needed
General Office duties
· Data entry on the computer, as needed.
· Filing
Maintains satisfactory attendance
Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's in Social Work or related field
Experience in office procedures
1. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
2. Ability to resolve problems and set priorities.
3.
Excellent written and verbal skills to effectively communicate needs to field and office staff.
4. Pleasant telephone demeanor.
5. Basic typing, computer, word processing, internet and calculator skills.
6. Ability to work cooperatively with others in a busy office setting.
Successful completion of orientation process
