Build the Future of Metal Manufacturing.

At Freeform, we’re reinventing how the world makes things — deploying AI-driven, autonomous metal 3D printing factories that bring the scalability of software to physical production. Our proprietary technology uses advanced sensing, real-time controls, and data-driven learning to deliver digitally verified, flawless parts at unprecedented speed and cost.

As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer (CNC Machining), you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of manufacturing — combining the precision of CNC machining with the innovation of additive manufacturing to produce high-value metal parts for aerospace, defense, and advanced industries.

About the Role

You’ll develop, implement, and optimize CNC programs for complex 3D-printed and traditionally machined parts. Working with state-of-the-art DMG Mori and Haas multi-axis machines, you’ll collaborate closely with engineers and machinists to build machining standards and best practices that support Freeform’s high-volume, vertically integrated production environment.

This position is ideal for an engineer who thrives on hands-on problem solving, process optimization, and pushing the limits of modern CNC technology.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop, implement, and optimize CNC programs for precision metal components and 3D-printed parts
  • Program and refine machining operations on DMG Mori and Haas 5-axis machines
  • Translate CAD models and GD&T drawings into efficient machining strategies
  • Select and optimize cutting tools, feeds, and speeds for maximum precision and throughput
  • Troubleshoot machining challenges and collaborate with machinists to improve results
  • Maintain CNC program libraries, documentation, and standardized workflows
  • Implement process improvements to reduce cycle times and boost machine utilization
  • Provide hands‑on technical support and training on the production floor
  • Ensure compliance with quality control standards, inspection processes, and safety guidelines

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline
  • 5+ years of 5-axis CNC programming and machining experience
  • Expertise with Mastercam and DMG Mori 5‑axis machines
  • Proven experience machining aluminum, stainless steel, titanium, or Inconel
  • Strong problem‑solving mindset and collaborative approach

Nice to Have:

  • NTMA machinist certification or equivalent training
  • Familiarity with Siemens controls and metal 3D printed part post‑processing
  • Experience machining castings or forgings
  • Knowledge of CMMs, micrometers, and thread gauges
  • Ability to operate shop tools, cranes, and forklifts
  • Willingness to work overtime when required

Why You’ll Love Working Here

At Freeform, every employee is a shareholder — your work directly impacts our growth and success. You’ll be part of a multidisciplinary team pushing the boundaries of automation, additive, and precision machining in a fast‑paced, high‑tech environment.
