Position Summary

As the Sr. Portfolio Manager‑Space, you will be responsible for the business performance of Winchester’s most strategic, Tier 1 space customers, which account for a significant portion of the division’s portfolio. This is an end‑to‑end leadership role, owning portfolio strategy, value proposition development, customer growth, and gross margin performance for your assigned accounts.

You will operate at the intersection of product management, program leadership, and commercial strategy, serving as the business owner for the Space division. You are accountable for defining the long‑term portfolio roadmap, executing pricing and margin strategy, driving profitable new program growth, and ensuring operational excellence across the program lifecycle.

This is a P&L leadership role with direct impact on revenue expansion, margin improvement, and strategic customer positioning in the Space market.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business; MBA preferred
  • 8–12+ years of experience in Product Management, Portfolio Management, or Program Leadership
  • Demonstrated P&L ownership and margin accountability
  • Experience within Space, Aerospace & Defense, or highly regulated technical markets
  • Strong background in pricing strategy, quoting, and margin analysis
  • Technical knowledge of interconnect products and complex harnesses is preferred
  • Experience managing large, complex Tier 1 customer relationships
  • Proven ability to translate strategy into measurable financial outcomes

Portfolio Ownership & Financial Accountability

  • Own full portfolio P&L performance for the Space division
  • Deliver year‑over‑year revenue growth and sustained gross margin expansionEstablish and execute pricing strategies to meet margin targets
  • Drive quoting strategy, ROI analysis, and business case development for NPIs
  • Identify margin improvement initiatives across programs and product lines

Portfolio & Market Strategy

  • Define and execute the Space portfolio roadmap aligned to long‑term growth objectives
  • Develop differentiated value propositions tailored to Tier 1 space customers
  • Translate Voice of Customer (VoC) into strategic product investments
  • Conduct competitive and market analysis to inform positioning and expansion
  • Partner with Business Development to identify whitespace opportunities

Customer & Program Leadership

  • Serve as executive business owner for key Tier 1 space accounts
  • Oversee program lifecycle performance (NPI through production)
  • Ensure alignment of delivery, quality (FPY), and On‑Time Delivery (OTD) targets
  • Drive customer satisfaction and strategic account expansion
  • Lead cross‑functional resolution of performance or margin gaps

    New Product Introduction (NPI) Leadership

    • Champion innovation and portfolio expansion initiatives
    • Align engineering, operations, and sales around successful NPI launches
    • Validate financial justification and ensure target return thresholds are achieved
    • Integrate validated market feedback into future roadmap planning

    Cross‑Functional Leadership

    • Act as the central bridge across engineering, operations, quality, supply chain, and sales
    • Track execution against strategic business plans and close performance gaps
    • Foster accountability and alignment across teams to deliver profitable growth

    Pay Transparency

    Winchester Interconnect Corporation is committed to pay transparency. The pay range for this position is 150,000-200,000 (DOE) per year, plus incentive compensation. Exact salary will be contingent upon your experience, education, skills, and any other factors Winchester Interconnect Corporation considers relevant to the hiring decision.
