RN Medical Practice Supervisor Family Medicine Residency

PIH Health is seeking a dedicated and skilled RN Medical Practice Supervisor to join our Family Medicine Residency team at the PIH Health Washington Medical Office Building (WASH). This full‑time, regular/at‑will position is an integral part of our healthcare network that serves the Los Angeles County, Orange County, and San Gabriel Valley region. As an RN Medical Practice Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in supervising department operations and staff to ensure office efficiency and optimal workflow. You will perform various procedures associated with routine patient encounters and work closely with department leadership to troubleshoot and resolve issues. Your role is crucial in maintaining positive relationships with patients, practitioners, management, and staff. Your responsibilities include maintaining quality control standards, interpreting and adapting guidelines and procedures, managing time effectively, motivating staff to achieve goals, and serving as a strong patient advocate.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise department operations and staff to ensure office efficiency and optimal workflow.
  • Perform procedures associated with routine patient encounters and collaborate with leadership to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  • Maintain quality control standards and interpret/adapt guidelines and procedures.
  • Motivate staff to achieve goals and establish effective working relationships.
  • Serve as an advocate for patients and maintain positive relationships with patients, practitioners, management, and staff.

Required Skills

  • Knowledge of computerized practice management and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Proficiency in Windows, word processing, and spreadsheets.
  • Experience with practice management and EHR computer systems.
  • Ability to motivate department staff to achieve goals.
  • Establish effective working relationships.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain quality control standards.
  • Interpret, adapt, and apply guidelines and procedures.

Required Experience

  • Current California RN licensure.
  • Current CPR card.
  • Minimum of 3 years clinical nursing experience.
  • Ability to maintain composure and balance multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience (e.g., charge nurse, team lead).
  • At least two years in a supervisory role in an ambulatory clinical setting preferred.
  • BSN or currently working toward BSN preferred.
