Overview

The Private Equity Associate will play a key role in supporting all aspects of the investment lifecycle, including deal sourcing, transaction execution, due diligence, portfolio company support, and exit planning. The Associate will work closely with senior investment professionals and portfolio company management teams and is expected to take on meaningful responsibility early.

This role is ideal for candidates with prior investment banking or private equity experience and a strong interest in industrial and consumer end markets.

Responsibilities

Transaction Execution & Due Diligence

  • Build and maintain detailed financial models, including LBO, operating, and valuation analyses
  • Support due diligence efforts across financial, commercial, operational, and legal workstreams
  • Prepare investment committee memoranda, deal presentations, and supporting analyses
  • Coordinate with third-party advisors (accounting, legal, consultants) throughout transaction processes
  • Assist with negotiation of transaction documents, including letters of intent and purchase agreements

Sourcing & Market Analysis

  • Conduct industry research and thematic analysis across industrial and consumer subsectors
  • Screen inbound and outbound investment opportunities and maintain deal tracking materials
  • Participate in management meetings, industry conferences, and banker interactions

Portfolio Company Support

  • Monitor portfolio company performance through KPI tracking, financial analysis, and board materials
  • Support value creation initiatives such as pricing optimization, margin improvement, M&A add-ons, and strategic planning
  • Assist with refinancing, recapitalizations, and exit preparation

Firm Support

  • Contribute to fundraising materials, LP reporting, and internal investment discussions
  • Help refine investment theses and sector-focused strategies

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree with strong academic performance
  • 2-3 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, or a related transaction-oriented role
  • Strong financial modeling and valuation skills
  • Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication abilities
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously
  • Strong work ethic and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
