The Marketing Measurement & Performance Support (MAPS) organization is looking for a Science Manager to lead a team of Economists, Data Scientists and Applied Scientists in designing a measurement system to solve challenging marketing measurement problems. As a Science Manager, you will develop state‑of‑the‑art models, collaborate with cross‑functional teams, and influence marketing investment decisions across Amazon’s businesses.

Key Job Responsibilities

As a people manager and technical leader in Econometric research, you will:

• Own the next generation of Causal Marketing‑Mix‑Media (MMM) models combining experimental evidence and observational econometric techniques.
• Deliver accurate and actionable incrementality estimates and recommendations to optimize marketing portfolios.
• Coach and guide scientists across Economists, Data Scientists and Applied Scientists to grow team talent and scale impact.
• Navigate ambiguity, lead problem solving, and interface between technical teams and business stakeholders.

Basic Qualifications

• PhD in economics or equivalent.
• Experience distilling informal customer requirements into problem definitions with ambiguity and competing objectives.
• Experience hiring and leading experienced scientists and developing junior members from academia or industry.
• 5+ years of experience building large‑scale Causal Inference and AI solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in applied economic analysis with big data, machine learning or data science.
• Experience building and growing teams of economists or machine learning scientists.
• 5+ years of people management experience.
• Experience with big data technologies such as AWS, Hadoop, Spark, Pig, Hive etc.
• Experience with scripting languages (Python, Java, or R).
• 5+ years of applied economics or statistics experience.

Benefits

The base salary range for this position is USD 175,100.00 – 236,900.00 annually. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs).
