Senior Manager, Marketing Programs, Amazon Music Japan

We are looking for a Senior Manager, Marketing Programs to join our Amazon Music team in Japan. You will lead a team focused on creating customer value through strategic programs that drive growth for both the music industry and Amazon Music’s business. You will define and implement programs that uplevel the customer experience and accelerate growth through promotions, products, features, and content, positively impacting streaming engagement and acquisition.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Build Japan’s roadmap for engagement and acquisition programs, in collaboration with global and local cross‑functional teams
  • Hire and develop a team of marketing managers owning program planning, GTM and channel management
  • Monitor and analyze overall business performance as well as specific program performance, to build recommendations and mitigation plans
  • Represent Japan business unit with global stakeholders including product teams and globally owned program owners, to influence and adapt global roadmaps
  • Build partnerships with other Amazon teams including Prime, Alexa, BD, retail teams
  • Manage blocking issues, provide escalation management, anticipate and make trade‑offs, and meet committed delivery timelines

A Day in the Life

You will look for ways to grow AM customer count and penetration within Amazon. You will manage a team that creates and implements programs that benefit customers. Your team works upstream with program owners to help define consumer propositions, and downstream to launch and amplify through GTM plans.

This includes Artist and Content Programs which drive high engagement (streams) with strategic audiences and position AM as a preferred partner for artists; and CX Improvement Programs which create reasons to engage more, re‑engage, or start engagement with Amazon Music.

You’ll collaborate daily with cross‑functional teams globally and locally. Your customers are Amazon Music subscribers, potential streamers, and Artists. You’ll spend time analyzing performance metrics and coaching your team of marketing managers on strategic initiatives. Expect to balance strategic planning sessions with tactical execution reviews, moving fluidly between data analysis, stakeholder alignment meetings, and creative problem‑solving to drive both immediate results and long‑term growth for Amazon Music.

Basic Qualifications

  • Speak, write, and read fluently in English
  • Experience managing people and leading a team
  • 10+ years of marketing experience with relevant work experience in digital marketing for consumer products and services
  • Digital marketing experience including customer acquisition, promotions, marketing, product marketing and/or channel marketing
  • Experience demonstrating strong analytical abilities and confidence in the use of data
  • Experience prioritizing and handling multiple assignments at any given time while maintaining commitment to deadlines, or experience completing complex tasks quickly with little to no guidance and react with appropriate urgency to situations that require a quick turnaround

Preferred Qualifications

  • Speak, write, and read fluently in Japanese
  • Experience with subscription business, consumer products, media and/or e‑commerce
  • Knowledge and experience with marketing automation tools
  • Passion for music and technology and the confluence of the two
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field
