About the Role

Your core responsibility is to support the team by running food, maintaining and resetting tables, and assisting with side work. You are the backbone of the floor. The café only flows when you are in motion, keeping hot food moving, clearing clutter instantly, and ensuring our tables are perfectly prepped for the next guests.

Basic Job Requirements

• You are constantly scanning the room, running, clearing, and resetting.
• You always use seat numbers, push in chairs, and ensure tables, seats, and floors are clean before a new party is seated.
• You take pride in your work and finish tasks completely before moving on to the next.
• You support the whole café and are always willing to jump in wherever you are needed.
• Always scan the room to anticipate guest needs. Remember that guests always have the right of way.
• Always use seat numbers and name every dish when dropping it—never just set it down.
• No dirty dish, glass, or piece of cutlery should sit on a table for more than a minute.
• Hot food and hot drinks waiting in the pass are your top priorities. Listen to the Anchor and run items immediately when called.
• Always use a tray for three or more drinks. Be mindful of the number of plates you are carrying at once.
• Push in chairs, wipe down the seats, check the floor, and set fresh roll-ups perfectly every single time a table turns.
• Fully execute your opening, handover, and closing checklists, keeping serving stations, roll-ups, cutlery, sauces, and fridges fully stocked.

California Legal & Physical Requirements

• Requires standing, walking, and moving continuously for an entire shift (up to 8 hours). Must be able to lift and carry heavy tray loads and items up to 25 lbs, and work efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
• Paid 10-minute rest break for every 4 hours worked. Shifts over 5 hours require an uninterrupted, unpaid 30-minute meal break starting before the end of the 5th hour of work.
• This position participates in the employee tip pool under California Labor Code Section 351.
• Employment is at-will. Either the employee or Great White may terminate the employment relationship at any time, with or without cause or advance notice.
