Under the leadership of the department director, assistant director, nursing supervisor, and/or charge nurse, the registered nurse is responsible and accountable for planning, directing, assessing and providing nursing care according to the policies and procedures of the hospital and department.Important dimensions of this position consist of quality of care, professional commitment, teamwork, interpersonal skills, safety, good public/customer relations and a broad nursing knowledge.The registered nurse is an experienced nurse who shall orient new staff, precept students, and assume relief charge nurse duty as oriented and assigned.Applies the nursing process to perform circulating and/or scrub nurse duties for procedures throughout Surgical Services.Must be able to take call per hospital on-call policy guidelines.Must pass orientation and initial competency assessment prior to independent assignment of patients requiring the applicable skill, and must complete and pass all annual competencies.

Experience

• Minimum of one year operating room nurse experience in an acute care hospital or multi-specialty ambulatory surgery center.
• Acute care hospital operating room experience within the last five years preferred.
• Computer documentation skills preferred.
• Scrub experience preferred.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.

Licensure and Certifications

• State of California RN license required.
• American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS required.
• ACLS certification must be obtained prior to completion of orientation and independent assignment for those hired/transferred into Operating Room position on or after March 1, 2024.
• Existing employees must obtain ACLS certification by September 1, 2025.
• PALS certification preferred.

$72.83 to $97.40

Shift Differentials

• Hourly Evening Shift Differential: $5.50
• Hourly Night Shift Differential: $8.00
