Overview

The Operating Room (OR) Attendant supports professional staff in caring for the surgical patient by transporting patients from inpatient, emergency, or ICU departments to the pre‑op holding area. The attendant also cleans the operating room suites between surgical procedures, ensures adequate stocking of anesthesia supplies in medication carts, cleans anesthesia machines, and transports anesthesia machines and carts. In addition, the attendant transports specimens and blood products to and from the lab, stocks formalin containers, assists in positioning surgical patients, and prepares the operating room suite by opening sterile supplies onto the sterile field and ensuring proper equipment is available.

Work Shift

Weekend Days Friday, Saturday, Sunday (7 a.m. – 7 p.m.)

Education

  • High School Diploma / GED (required)

Certification/Licensure

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification within 90 days of hire

Experience

  • Prior Environmental Services or operating room experience preferred
