Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) to join our surgical services team. The OR RN plays a critical role in perioperative care by ensuring patient safety, supporting surgeons, and maintaining sterile technique throughout surgical procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative nursing care to surgical patients.
- Prepare the operating room with necessary equipment, instruments, and supplies.
- Verify patient identity, consent, and surgical site in compliance with safety protocols.
- Assist the surgical team during procedures by anticipating needs and ensuring sterile field integrity.
- Monitor patient status, vital signs, and anesthesia response during surgery.
- Document nursing assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical technologists for safe and efficient case flow.
- Maintain adherence to infection control and hospital safety policies.
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state-specific).
- BLS and ACLS certifications required (CNOR preferred).
- Minimum 1–2 years of perioperative or surgical nursing experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, sterile technique, and perioperative standards.
- Excellent critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills.
